I've used XLink Kai to play a "Network" game of Halo 2 on my friends Xbox cause he didn't want to pay for Xbox Live. Very useful, and essentially all it does is create a controlled LAN for which the game systems use. There is no modding of the game, you are simply creating a channel to play it through.

I would figure this would be the same for the PSP only as opposed to a regular LAN like an Xbox, its like a Wireless LAN for Ad-Hoc PSP games. Though I don't have a PSP, I would have no problem using XLink Kai to play ACX multiplayer if I did have one. The only drawback would be having to get the USB WiFi thing.

I downloaded everything, I have a wireless router and Internet connection. But there is no category for Ace Combat in Xlink when I log in... Hmm.

Okay, so after some fumbling around, ive gotten this set up and working. Only problem is mosts people are passwording their arenas (and there is a Ace Combat arena). Id love to give this a try some time. If anybody is interested, PM me or contact me via IM.

Here are a few pointers if your trying to set this up:

-Install the software from http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ (Its free and available for all platforms)

-your computer needs a wireless connection (it doesn't have to be a USB adapter)

-connect your computer to your router/modem with an ethernet cord. (this frees up the wireless adapter on you computer to connect to your psp)

-your PSP connects to your computer NOT your router (unless you have a linksys wrt54gs with modded firmware)

-visit the forums there. Everybody has a different setup, and there are instructions on setting up many different configurations.

-Doing this doesn't involve hacking or modding your PSP, as far as your PSP knows, you are connected to someone sitting right next to you.

Looks like Sony are answering the call (long over due) for certain PSP games. If you have a PS3 aswell as a PSP you can play selected ad-hoc PSP games over the internet using your PS3s internet connection and thus achieve infrastructure like play.

Pray that this comes to Ace Combat X; I'll be all over it like flies to sh*t :P

No offense "Im An Ace", but must you post in such a large font size? It's very annoying. This is like the 2nd or 3rd time across the Acecombatskies.com forums you've done so.

Sorry mods, but seeing 1 post with only about 10 words take up a WHOLE DAMN PAGE on the screen is rather irritating.

Please learn how to use the forum post editing features appropriately.

Thanks.

The only reason they are doing this is to stop the bickering over them charging to fix consoles that got brickd when being flashed with the Fall Update Firmware thus the refunds given out.

Ok for those guys that don't understand the concept of this:
Xlink Kai fakes ad-hoc connection by using an external wireless stick/card(NOT ROUTER) connected at your computer which gives you access to the multitudes of games on the Internet. Basically an Xbox LIVE, same concept, same aims. The real advantage is that with this you can connect to communities like PS3/Xbox LIVE without having to pay a subscription like Xbox LIVE needs. In our advanage XLink opens up the Internet to create rooms to play in a real multiplayer-style Ace Combat X without having the people near you.

I'm not so sure about this, I might end up breaking my PSP or erasing the data. We should just wait for Joint Assault to come out, it has Infrastructure. :P

Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread, but just how would the Tunnelling of your PSP's Ad-Hoc system, brick your PSP?
