Hats for the Hat God!
Frills for the Frilly Throne!
While people tire of Doctors and fez caps and a soap-opera presented as sci-fi, Touhou is there, satisfied in our hats, with no pretensions as to our nature.
While people roll their eyes at the Homestuck pairings, and ashen faces and cheap orange horns fill every anime con, Touhou is there, its fans rarely making themselves known.
While people rebel agains the Bronies and their supposedly "rich culture" of brostep remixes, Touhou is there, quietly enjoying the latest crop of experimental jazz and piano duets out of Comiket.
While tumblr festers and the great feminism movement falters over itself, Touhou is there, a whole universe of female characters, beloved of men and women alike. Quiet. Satisfied.
Let us come together, brothers and sisters. Let us be quiet...together!
Bullet hell shooters are a hell of a good time. Touhou is an exceptionally good bullet hell shooter, but so are Ikaruga and DoDonPachi. Why is Touhou different? Why do we need a squadron for this?
We come of our own volition, to gather, to play games, and to talk amongst ourselves. We come to perpetuate our own special brand of otaku culture.
We have none.
I am by default the shrine's kannushi. I mange what few operations we have. Since I hold all the keys, I necessarily also hold the power to ban. However, I will allow members to commit sudoku instead of facing the dishonor of a ban. If I am generous, I may even allow the greater honor of zandatsu.
>Come hang out with us.
>You're a member!
>"Hey KB, can I be in your squadron?"
>"Sure. Do you play Touhou?"
>"I kinda suck at it, but yeah."
>"Omae wa mou...member de aru."
>You're a member!
//CODE OF CONDUCT
We have no code of conduct, but here are the traits which make a good member.
>A Touhou fan has actually played Touhou before.
>A Touhou fan does not make the fandom integral to his or her own identity.
>A Touhou fan does not proselytize, but rather shares what's worth sharing - nothing more.
>A Touhou fan is not vitriolic. A Touhou fan is not irrational.
Anything we feel like.
No, I'm not serious. At most I could create a steam group. Or a turntable.fm station. That might be cool.
