Hi All,

No matter at how i try this mission on Expert, i cant crack that S rank. Just THIS mission in expert till that gold medal and possibly moving closer to the SP CFA-44.

So! I use the CFA (for obvious reasons) And if any one out there has done it. Please post ideas or what ever to help

Get an S on all 4 operations. Then for the 2nd part kill 17 drones or more for a B in that part which will give you an S for the mission. Both the ADMM and EML are good against Pasternak and the drones.

For a quick S-Rank of all mission objectives, use the ADMMs and start with retaking the airfield. From there, take out the jammers and the ESM aircraft (including all of their escorts), then help the Marigold into the bay. Save all of your allied attack/cover bars. Make sure you stay within range of the airfield. When Donnie starts talking about the path into the vault, make sure to do a quick landing (or skip the landing with the start button), and switch to the Railgun. To S-Rank the encounter with Pasternak, you're going to need to take down a LOT of drones. To do that, you're going to need a LOT of Allied Attack/Cover uses, with your mates in the range of ESM. Nail as MANY OF THE DRONES AS POSSIBLE. IGNORE PASTERNAK. After awhile, nail Pasternak once, and a lot of the drones should disappear. If you don't feel like you've taken enough of them out, destroy a few more here. After that, just take out Pasternak.

Thanks Garuda 1. It took me about 5 hours but I got it. Before I go to the last part with the drones, how can I check to see if I have an S in all 4 stages? I don't want to have to go thru the last part if I don't have S rankings all of the way thru.

Pause the game, then hit the bumber buttons to switch between operations. They should be listed on the bottom of the paused screen.

I actually have a method for this one. Assuming you're using the Nostrafau.

1. Take the airfield first, you'll need it. Make shure you destroy as many non TGT enemies as possible. You will hear a strange electronic whirring sound when you get the next levels rank.

2. Save the Marigold. Do not just attack the ships there are also some Rafale M's in the sky too. Take Care of Them.

3. Assist With 2/2 of the air bourne missions. Shoot down the enemy support planes and all the stealth fighters (F-22's) and any aircraft providing ESM.

Try not to shoot into mission areas you do wish to engage. This will start the support run properly and you will have failed operations.

Between every engagement re-load the multi target missile weapon for the CFA-44.

If you perform the engagement in the order i have stated you will be close to the airfield at the end of all the airbourne engagements. In the last 30-60 seconds of dialouge you can land and change your weapon to the EML.

Now in my case i shot down 40 UAVs. Relax it's actually real easy. Stay above the airfield fly straight up and down. UAVs that are far away are easy to shoot because they are not trying to out manouver you, and are often chasing tream mates. It's also easy to land, simply fly over the air field, put down your landing gear when indicated to do so, then press start and you'll be on the ground reloading.

WARNING! Do not shoot Pasternak Until you are satisfied with your score or UAV kill count. Damaging Pasternak will result in less or no UAVs and you are relying on them for your score!

It took me in the end about 15 minutes. I got S for the 4 main engagements and S for the 2nd part. It's not impossible. By the time you're finished your SCORE should be ~140000.

My testament to this meathod working is my Avatar. It's something you unlock for Finishing ACE MODE with all S ratings.

*Ahem* You actually just get it for beating Ace. S ranks don't matter for the gamerpic.

Get 4 S for the 1st part, and don't shoot Pasternak too quickly, you need at least a B in the second part (together with 4 S in the 1st part).

For the second part I just return to base and change to EML, then shooting down the drones becomes very easy (fly around the return line if you need refill), when you get enough drones, 2 or 3 shots to Pasternak and you're done.

I don't know if this is true, but it seems every time I shot down the enemy Ace I got an S.

Well actually no. I didn't get it until i got all S ratings on ACE. It displays a message like you've unlocked an assult record. And has some war message thing.

The assault record is Platinum Star for all S on Ace, but the gamerpic doesn't require this record.

Maybe i'm blind. But i did check my gamer pics all the time before i'd completed this part. Come to think of it i probably got all s the first time i played through ace. By re trying the low rated missions in free mission........ That would answer why it says i'd unlocked it at the end of Ace mode on S.

On a SP/Non-SP New Game, to be precise.

so as you can gess u kill as much as possible and then kill 20 or more UAV's and only THEN kill Pasternak

Tips:

1.) Blow this shiz out of Gracemaria invaders, score big points (not just targets).
2.) Save your Allied Support
3.) Always focus it on Pasternak
4.) Boom S

Focusing on Pasternak means that you'll get a C. Don't focus on Pasternak. Don't focus on the drones, as they'll pop up all the time, and you don't need to focus around the airfield.

Focus on those god-forsaken ADMMs.

To get an S-Rank I do operations A, D, E, and F, then when the Pasternak bit starts I simply make a mess of the drones until my score's about 120000 - 130000. Works like a charm, and now I know how to get an S in the mission without playing the damn thing over and over again (I really hate it).

I had my troubles with this mission, but they are easy as soon as you get used to it.

Using the F-15, Get S in the 4 Ops, do the Marigold & Airfield... you are free to do anyother you fell like.

When you defeat the last enemies rush to the airfield to re-supply, when pasty arrives go straight to the bay where Mary is awaiting with open arms (And ESM),

Fly circles arround the marigold at low altitude, every time that you spot a rather large amount of drones go straight for them with Xma6 armed, if you are outside of the ESM range by the time you have lock-on then pull back, try it again, but shoot all missiles at the group only if you are within ESM.

Chances are that now you see a "Destroyed" icon in your hud, we cannot be sure how many drones got killed (But heeeeeey, it's 1 out of six, and it's not so hard aint it?)

Rinse and repeat, do it 17 times, but is prefered to do it 20 times just to be sure you get the dammed B, and then proceed to get Pasty, allied support is preferred, but be sure to get him down yourself. (This also aplies to Valet, He'll make a nice adition for the Srank in the marigold Op if you down him)
