Alright,

so i was playing AC4 the other day, and the sound was somewhat lagging (the text for the voice showed up, the music froze, and then the acutal voice appeared a few seconds later. the sound effects were fine.) i played through the campaign for a hour and a half, until about mission 13 the voices were all suddenly robotic! It was pretty epic, i kid you not. I continue to play for about another hour, until the game crashes when the briefing for Siege of Fabranti (?) tried to load. I restarted the PS2, but the PS2 said that i didn't have a ps or ps2 disc in.

so my game no longer works.

...well, first of all, is the disk scratched up? Is your PS2's laser possibly dusty? Do other games still work on your PS2?

Go pick up a PS2 compatible lens cleaning disk from you're local Gamestop and run it, and make sure you're game isn't scratched up.

Quick, call the Ghostbusters! (Queue music.)

Like all of the previous posts said though, either your disk has a minute scratch on it or your PS2's reading lens is a little bit dusty.
