Today i had the pleasure to fly the De Havilland Tiger Moth, and it such and EPIC aircraft, the aircraft i flew was built in 1944 and used as a trainer for the RAF

So what do you think of this amazing aircraft?

I've never flown an open cockpit airplane. So I'm not really sure what to make the Tiger Moth. I imagine the ride was fun though.

It is amazing they are so responsive, and just the feeling of the wind going passed you makes it more so!

But it causes more of a communications issue, because of the wind it can cut out parts of radio transmissions, and makes hearing them harder also

But i can assure you that you will enjoy it, and never regret flying such an aircraft!

They're pretty awesome planes to fly biggrin.gif

I know a guy, mechanic in the RAAF for 25 years, who owns a Tiger Moth (and an L-39 Albatros, and has a replica A6M Zero sitting in his hangar)

He's got some pretty interesting stories, such as a parachutist jumping out and accidentally hitting the magneto switches on his way out. Cue the engine stopping laugh.gif And some ones he's heard about people running into (or nearly running into) stuff on account of the fact it lacks wheel brakes.

EDIT: My spelling is getting worse every day, I swear...

Went up earlier today
Was really really impressed. Lil bit of vibration and slightly turbulance at times, but generally fantastic expereince. Really enjoyed it. Really beautiful to fly, superbly responsive. Definitely reccomend it to others.
Trying to organise another longer one now:D

Lmao I noticed the insturctor guy was just wearing a flight suit. I said they should have reccomended it as I own one. He said "you'd be much more comfortable, we just use these for that genuine vintage experience, bring it if ye come again!"
