I don't see the link considering that the what little semblance these aircraft have is a passing one. True both are unmanned aircraft. However their roles are completely different. For starters a modern Tomahawk would have more in common with the V-1 than Global Hawk. Both Tomahawk and V-1 are cruise missiles. Global Hawk has a more permanent role when conducting its missions.
Also the basic planform used by V-1 and Global Hawk; that is, a rectangular fixed winged aircraft with an engine mounted atop the aircraft, is not a unique feature among aircraft. Take the Cirrus Corp recent light jet concept which made its first flight earlier this month. It should be noted that the company coincidental calls the testing model the V-1: ![]() The Piper Aircraft company has a jet concept that employs a similar configuration. -------------------- ![]() |

A good flight configuration is a good flight configuration, regardless of who developed it.

For a real example of surviving Nazi tech, look at the VW Beetle. The car was commissioned by Hitler, who ordered the Porsche family to design and produce a "people's car" for the German public.

It's kind of messed up how they did it, but Nazi doctors found out that if you keep a person's head above freezing water, they'll survive longer. So now pilot suits and what not are designed to keep the wearer's head above the water.

A great deal of our modern medical information is derived from Nazi research. Some people say that we should never use any information gained from their horrible experiments, but I say that we have a responsibility to use any and all information gained from that terrible chapter in human history for the benefit of mankind.

Was that one of the infamous "Jew Experiments"? Not quite, the learned that from dunking Jews and Russian POWs in tanks of freezing cold water and observing under what conditions they died under. List of ten existing derivatives of Nazi Tech. Well a few could be debated. QUOTE 1. Turbojet Engines (Me-262) Sir Frank Whittle developed a turbojet for the Allies. Germany and Britain were pretty much neck and neck. QUOTE 9. Stealth ( Ho-229) Jack Northop was working on his own flying wings around the same time as the Horten Bros were. QUOTE 6. Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifles (Barret 82) The Russians had scoped SVT-40s, and the M1C featured a scope. In fact, the Germans had a hard time getting their semi-auto battle rifle to work until they captured a few Soviet Tokarev rifles. I wouldn't say those US drones are taken from the Nazi's V-1, which was more a primitive cruise missile. They don't really look that alike. Though the US did get help from Germans (some of the members of the Nazi Party) after World War II, such as Wernher von Braun. The US, and probably the Soviet Union, even made it one of there priorities once they conquered Germany to interrogate certain German rocket scientists.

Sir Frank Whittle developed a turbojet for the Allies. Germany and Britain were pretty much neck and neck. It is true, however, that the engines for the F-86 Sabre and MiG-15 were basically copies of the Me-262's engine (several other components of those aircraft were borrowed from the Me-262), and the V-2 was the base for the modern ballistic missile. -------------------- Aggressiveness was a fundamental to success in air-to-air combat and if you ever caught a fighter pilot in a defensive mood you had him licked before you started shooting.

It is true, however, that the engines for the F-86 Sabre and MiG-15 were basically copies of the Me-262's engine I'm not sure about the MiG-15. The RD-45 was a copy of the Rolls Royce Nene, and the the Nene was completed in 1944, so I don't know how it could have incorporated anything from the Junkers Jumo 004 engine. The British also developed their own axial flow compressor design that evolved into the Armstrong Siddeley Saphire (J65). QUOTE and the V-2 was the base for the modern ballistic missile. I'm not denying that, I was only talking about turbojet engines. -------------------- ![]() You gonna get hurt by my pimp cane one way or the other. well this reminds me of the F-22 and the PAK-FA... Yes the PAK-FA is going to look like the F-22 because that is a very good design. So yeah shape doesn't mean much to me, its the tools in it and the capabilities...

For certain roles, everything in that particular category looks similar. Most Gen5 planes resemble the F-22, the F-15, MiG-29, and Su-27 looked similar, the Yak-25RV, U-2, and M-55 all utilize the same wing, many modern airliners look very similar, and the swing-wing bombers are similar in shape (but not size).
