Same, I just keep an eye out for them.
Have yet to run across their undercover mustangs*, camaros*, and civics. (there are more undercover that normal cop cars here). It's easy to spot undercover cop cars, becase they always look clean and are on the side of the road. * I know about those because friends of mine got challenged at a street light by them. They didn't accept the challenge, but when the light turned green the cop's lights were going. Evil tactic. I know about the civic because I saw it pull over an truck. It's kind of odd having to take their order at work, because I've had them just follow me for no reason. Probably would be different if I had black, blue or silver mustang, but I got candy apple red. (as a friend said "AKA: Arrest me red") -------------------- ![]() "None Braver, None Stronger, None Better. This was a few years back, but I actualy got out of going 85 in a 65 zone by telling the MP (this was near Vandenburg AFB) I had to take a huge dump. I did it with this pinched look like I was really holding it in. He let me off with a warning, told me slow it down, and said he hoped I made it in time.
Later on I'm haning out with a friend and a few of her MP friends, turns out one of the guys they work with has irritable bowel syndrome or something like that (he basicaly sounded like Johnny Sasaki from what they told me) and it was probably him that pulled me over that day. Another time I got pulled over for doing the same thing, I told the MP that I was horribly late to a class that I had a presentation for that day, because I needed to take my mom to an urgent care, and if I didn't make it to class on time, I was going to flunk the class and my admission to San Jose State (where I was trying to get in at the time) would be revoked for the semester. A friend of mine was able to get out of a ticket with some real theatrics. The cop pulls her over and she starts stammering about trying to got home fast since she's on the rag and didn't have a pad or tampon and was scared about getting a stain on her dad's car. For the finale she started crying right in front of him. What ever works... Maybe it's just me, but it seems easier to talk your way out of a ticket if a guy pulls you over than a female? When ever I get pulled over by a female I've never been able to talk my way out of it, but with a guy I've got about a 50-50 chance. -------------------- OK I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, and don't pay any attention to those who would tell you who to vote for. This was a few years back, but I actualy got out of going 85 in a 65 zone by telling the MP (this was near Vandenburg AFB)....... Vandenberg SP's? They're criminally crooked, and lie in court without hesitation. I lived in Casmalia in the mid '80's, a town of approx 250 on the northern boarder of VAFB. I did a lot of wild boar hunting (with permission) on a 250,000 acre area called Casmalia Disposal (mostly toxic waste dump at that time). they did a lot of dry-land farming, and the owner let us take out all the pigs we wanted. I NEVER, EVER crossed onto VAFB land, which was well marked, didn't have to. So I'm hiking back to my car (Datsun B-210 wagon) and find it surrounded by SPs, who immediately placed me under arrest for poaching on gov land. They took my rifle, side arm and knives. Fast forward about 7 months when I had to appear before the Federal Magistrate. Young and stupid, I decided I couldn't afford an attorney, so I represented myself. The sargeant lied out his ass, saying I was arrested on the VAFB side of the fence, where my car was parked. Playing lawyer wasn't my gig, but I called the perimeter sargeant to the stand, the guy who kept the fence and signs, and was able to prove that there was no way my Datsun could have gained access to the VAFB side of the fence...he agreed that would have had to be a very tall 4x4 to even get there. The prosecution's main point was that too many Casmalia residents poach on the gov land, and they're tired of it and need to stop it, yada yada yada (no real evidence presented). I got a chance to put the crooked sargeant on the stand and ask questions like "Can you explain the penalties for an SP sargeant to intentionally lie under oath in a court of law?" Out of spite, I even recalled the crooked cop two more times, asking him what car I was arrested in, and had him repeat which side of the fence he arrested me on. The magistrate ruled that I was able to "conjure reasonable doubt", let me off, and the SP left the court room by slamming open the swinging doors and looking like an angry child for everyone to see. At the end of the story I got my rifle and side arm back from the armory, rusty as hell, and with no compensation for this. The cops in the Central Coast tend to be pretty incompetent and crooked. These cops are going to hate me once I start law school and start calling them on their bull if have to deal with them when I visit my parents.

The cops in the Central Coast tend to be pretty incompetent and crooked........ I attended the police academy at Allan Hancock (Santa Maria) after having been through a few other military-type academies...a Santa Barbara County Deputy was a guest instructor, and had a hard-on for me, trying like heck to fail me (which he never did). He lost his job because he was stealing bags of cement from a site he was supposed to be guarding (near Jalama Beach). Really put a smile on my face when I heard. -------------------- ![]() |

I got into a close encounter. A friend was going to return me home after a graduation party, however, he got a little carried away, a cop was behind us, because he was suspected for drunk driving. He passed the line skills test and the breathalizer test with flying colors. The cop told him, "Okay, kid, you're good." He did not even notice me. What the heck happened there?!

i have a bumper sticker that says "i'm not speeding, i'm qualifying!" it help me get out of a ticket, he must have been a NASCAR fan or something. Reminds me of one bumper sticker I saw that said "I'm driving fast because I have to go home and poop." I haven't had any cop stories, but my friend got pulled over by a cop and the cop was friends with his girlfriend's family. That was awkward... |

I had a friend who was a CHP that I went to high school with. He'd sometimes pull me over just to ask how the waves were breaking outside my house.

Well, dog-gone-it, it happened again........
Sittting in traffic on my way to work, in my Spitfire, at a light, a local police cruiser eases up next to me, stares, and I give him the "head nod". On green, he delays a bit, pulls in behind me and hits the 'YELP' siren once, so I pull over. While I handed him my license, registrtation and proof of insurance, he says he just wanted to check out my ride. I told him I would be late for work if he kept me long, he handed me back my papers and let me go. That's the third time. -------------------- ![]() |

Back when we had the Chevelle, police would pull us over all the time just to check if the car was legal. That Car just gave me a boner... Am I allowed to post that on ACS? A guy at more work says something like that. It was weird when a girl we worked with said that. As for the cop factor; I've had cops turn around on a 4-lane highway just to follow me. As a result, I try to hide from them at work. Some of the people I work with said it's because of the car. Why did it have to be candy apple red? -------------------- ![]() "None Braver, None Stronger, None Better.
