Your referring the controls used on engine start up......thats easy. I will summarize the before engine start and the engine starting checklists for the Cessna 172R, but be aware there are many more important elements on that check list, but for sake of discussion they are extraneous.

You want to make sure that the engine has an ample supply of fuel:
-Set the fuel tank selector switch to both
-The fuel shut off valve knob should be push towards the fire wall in the open position

After you have completed the before engine start check list:
-Mixture control knob is at idle cut off
-Advance throttle 1/4"
-Master Switch to ON
-Check fuel guage for fuel quantity (IF possible visually verify fuel quantity during preflight inspection and just before getting into the plane)
-Switch on anti-collision red beacon (That in addition to shouting "CLEAR PROP!" serves to warn people around the aircraft the engine is about to be started and to stay clear)

Depending on the temperature of the engine (assessed by looking at the oil temp guage) you will either prime the engine with a small amount of fuel or attempt a warm start:

-If cold, switch on the Auxiliary Fuel Pump and advance the Mixture control knob to Full Rich and observe the fuel flow gauge, when fuel is verified to be flowing into the engines immediately return the Mixture Control to Idle Cut Off and turn the fuel pump off.
-Insert key into ignition and turn the switch to BOTH, the starter motor will crank the propeller until the Magnetos provided sufficent spark to ignite the fuel.
-Once that occurs occurs immediately bring the Mixture Control to Full Rich
-Set Engine RPM with the throttle control to 1000 RPM
-Lean the mixture control to prevent fowling of the spark plug and to reduce fuel consumption during ground ops

If the engine is warm (The oil temp needle is in the Green Arc past 75 degrees F) then you do not have to prime the engine and just start the engine. Be aware, even if it is warm, it may not start on the first attempt. In that case the engine must be primed.

And I was sure I deleted it because it was spam.
If you like, in the future I could raise your warning level, or take more severe action... OR, you could post relevantly and appropriately and not have to worry.

Define spam... please.

Spam means a post is irrelevant and just taking up space in the thread without contriubting to the discussion. For example, posting about a fiction device from a movie, which neither the device itself, nor the movie have anything to do with starting an aircraft.
Raptorguy implied that had he had that manual, he could have rattled off an analogous aircraft startup procedure.

While not dead-on-topic, his post was at least relevant. Yours was totally off-topic.

Yes, I'm sure people will give him a clear answer as to the whereabouts of his manual.

To steer this back into the wind...

When I flew my B-1B on X-plane...I'm trying to remember how I did my startup. I'm not a pilot, so I don't know any of the technical terms, or the controls. I just kind of fiddled around with what seemed right.

I think it went like this:
1) Turned the battery on (Main Power to Battery?)
2) Turned the Avionics on
Near my throttles were four little red knobs. They had something to do with fuel flow to the engines.
3) Raised the red knob for Engine 1 part way
4) Turned on the power for Engine 1
5) Pressed/Flipped the starter for Engine 1 and held it until engine lit-off
6) Throttled Engine 1 from Idle to Mil-Power, then back to Idle
7) Repeat steps 3-6 for Engines 2-4
8) Turned power to the Generator
9) Turned on Nav lights

I know it's not the "proper" procedure, but I made due. If Phantom or AceOHearts were around, they could probably translate or give the full accout of the startup for that particular model in the game.

Not from the manual, but it does the job: http://www.quebecairforce.com/falcon/doc/R..._ramp_start.pdf

I've actually run through the procedure in the F-16 simulator at Nellis and its not too much different, but remember that its simplified... sort of like "F-16 ramp start for dummies" kind of thing...

Hmmm, CTRL+E? Thats how it works in FS2004. tongue.gif

But general sillyness aside;

Not exactly a Cessna or a military aircraft, but the Туполев Ту-154ь2 Made by Project Tupolev team for FS-2004 has a start up prodedure that is pretty realistic for FS-2004 anyways, Though not 100% RL I would assume, it is like a 107 step procedure, but it is pretty realistic as far as most airliners go just let me pull it out and is often considered the amongst the best freeware aircraft you can get, even surpassing many payware aircraft (can't start that baby with CTRL+E, you'll actuallyt need to flip quite a few switches to get it started tongue.gif):

There's a youtube video out there of an F-16 pilot going through his procedure with a camera in the cockpit.
Just look up F-16 Startup.
