When's the next F1 race supposed to be on anyway? I'd rather watch that. V10's on a road course with a 4000 RPM idle and an 18000 RPM redline FTW!!!

Plus whens the last time you've seen a NASCAR with an engine like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo-9Io41bt8

also do this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGEqlNU30Tg...feature=related
Not to burst your bubble, but F1 engines are now 2.4L V-8s that red line over 20,000RPM wink.gif

The V-8's are rev limited to 19,000 RPM wink.gif

Next race up is the Bahrain GP. Qualifying starts the 4th of April and the race is the 6th.

I wonder if Super GT, formerly known as JGTC, would count seeing as they also have some power over that series as well. Anyhow, I'm a huge fan of the FIA GT Championship.

I know, but as I said, the Mercedes was revving in testing to 21,000-22,000RPM

I don't think SuperGT is FIA-sanctioned. I don't think the cars are even classified in FIA classes: GT3, GT2, GT1, P2, P1. They're GT500 and GT300.

Technically Super GT is managed by the FIA, dunno if that counts as regulated.

I'd like to see a massive race to see who has the best machines. I am talking the ACO GT1/GT2 class, Super GT GT500/GT300, and FIA GT1/GT2 all battling on the same track. Maybe say, the Nurburgring...
Yes, you all know that idea pwns tongue.gif

I think that is the Nurburgring 24 Hours... pretty much anything under GT1 is allowed in. Some 500 cars I think compete.

Well, what I should have said are teams from those specific series. I don't recall ever seeing any ALMS teams run the Nurburgring 24 Hours. I though usually a lot of DTM cars and other touring cars run the race most of the time, along with tons of privateers.

Yeah, usually it's just privateers. Everything from hardly modified supercars to time attack cars... but as I said, I think the FIA GT1 and above aren't allowed.

Thats what I'm talking about right there. Though its santioned by the GTA and the Japan Automobile Federation, its directed by the FIA.

Funny you say that because the FIA and the JAF are actually trying to bring the car regulations closer together so that in the future they can race together. They are one step ahead of you pal smile.gif

Heh, good tongue.gif
You know, maybe they should make a F1 style GT racing series that does races world wide, with competitors from various series such as FIA GT, ALMS, LMES, and SGT. Maybe have one or two races in various countries, also like F1 racing. Of course this series would have to have races at the Nurburgring, Le Sarthe, Sebring, and other notable race circuits world wide. This series would also need to have at least as many races as F1 does. And given the fact that teams from various other series would be allowed you would have rather large numbers of cars competing. 50 GT cars on track for every race would be epic win... ohmy.gif

Problem with that is expenses. Teams like ALMS and LMES and FIA GT because it's cheaper for privateers to run making the racing more exciting. Whereas, if only the big guns could afford to ship the cars around the world (like F1) you'd have a very small grid. Think Corvette, ProDrive Aston Martin, and Oreca Saleen in GT1. That's it. No one else could afford to run. It would really hit GT2 hard where all the privateers are. It's a good idea for a perfect world, but we don't live in a perfect world. As it stands, LeMans is where all the top teams from ALMS, LMES and FIA GT come together to show what they've got.

speaking of the FIA, how bout the Max Mosley story......... i just can't believe what he did! oh well the man that is destroying F1 will have to step down. but Max said he won't step down.

the F1 season is off to a great start, except for Massa. he better get in the zone or i think he will be out at the end of the season. but as of dismorning he was over a second faster that kimi and lewis in practice 1. at bahrain they are running on a softer compound so we shall see how this tire grains during the race. i haven't watched the practice yet but i read that lewis crashed. i give ferrari the win since they test a lot at bahrain in the pre-season.

we shall see if BMW's pace continues! nice to a third horse in the race!

I heard about that. I never saw him the same way again after seeing that mellow.gif Its about time both he got his perch but I'm not surprised to see that he's refusing to do so.

Massa won the Bahrain GP. I think so long as Ferrari has Schumacher in their program they'll at least be consistent.

I never liked Massa. I dunno way. I think with him, it's mostly the car. Kimi's good- very good. Massa finds spots of luck, but for the most part, he's not where a Ferrari should be

Still, I find the series of Ferrari's rise back to competition amusing. Sucking---->add Schumacher---->Not Sucking. I was kinda hoping Renault would be a bit more competitive at this point. Wonder what'll happen when Ferrari introduces their next F1 car.

Well the new GT-R has made a great start in Super GT. A 1-2 finish for both of the GT-R\'s.
