Not normally one for posting topics anymore but today is special.

Freelance Alliance turns 3 years old (officially) today. Surestrike, WHO STILL HASN'T FINISHED "Courage Under Fire", in 2005 made the official founding of F.A.
Although I'm not part of the group no more, still can say I'm amazed its gone this far. I belief this is living proof that a little bit of insanity, a large bit of devotion, and maybe even a fifth of Jameson can survive anything.

Good job guys, keep strong another year.

How did it start?

The Public Verson (the kind you might've heard on Radio Dubit)
Freelance Alliance began as a collection of 2 (eventually 3) small squadrons (numbering 5-6 members) who weren't going anywhere, and after some crafty negotiation with an even more insane Erick von Long, joined together to form the juggernaut to be.

The Part History Doesn't Remember (the kind you don't hear on 97.2 KECL Radio, AC.net's premiere pirate radio)
Erick von Long needed an insurance policy as his.... actions in Hellcats was getting him in trouble and management there didn't get along with a TFGuradian view. I contacted Ace Combatant (Fallen), and negotiated a deal for them to "unite" with Surestrike/Ghost of Razgriz group. Fell-Ravens and Air Ixiom were former squadrons that stalled, but became famous when joined together. Erick was booted from the Hellcats, joined the FA, and the rest is history.

That's really cool. I never knew the FA was alive this long. I was thinking about a year-and-a-half. But 3???? That's just simply amazing...

History?
As boring as things may seem sometimes, it's better than our founding.
And despite what some of the veterans say, sometimes the old times were worse than now

At least these days people are TRYING to keep radical people from becoming too loud. Back then, it seemed most people enjoyed listening to a radical fool: myself.

Although I don't believe F.A. was the sole reason, it did have a large hand in Hellcats eventual fall from grace. When F.A. formed, they were part of the Big Three (other was SS13/Yellow). By the time April 2005 rolled around, half of them left, most of their command were about to leave the site, and the "Shield Alliance" quickly fell out of rotation.

The only sad thing regarding these days was that I had hoped F.A. would continue helping X-Squadron as it did back in the day (we both became legit squadrons around the same time). I always thought of them as a brother-flight, especially when the line in the sand was drawn. X was there when SS13/HC wanted to "contain" the FA and other expanding new squadrons.

Enough ranting, Erick... Happy birthday FA.

Off topic: Who the hell is Chaugnar? She keeps sending me comments and I don't know who she is.

Chaugnar is an evil, evil little girl who wants to do things to me; she's the one reason I will never go to Florida. But enough about that.
