I don't know if this has been said before.. but I have noticed a few things about Mobius One. For instance.. I thought Mobius One was a random name picked for his callsign. I was also thinking of the "Ribbon" he has. That's is when I figured out that they call him Mobius One because the "ribbon" on his insignia is a mobius strip, (a strip that if you trace a line on on side.. you can eventually meet up on the start point with all sides covered. Is there any significance in this strip? If you have the answer to this...let me know please.

P.S.: don't flame me for this.. I just wanted to know if there was anything special about it.

He probably just likes ribbons. Or the developers thought that frightened enemy soldiers shouting out "It's the ribbon!" was cool.

Had too much Yuktobanian "Fried Chiken," eh?

The Mobius strip has only one side, is not orientable, and a whole bunch of other confusing calculus terms. What does that have to do with AC? Nothing. It just seems like they said, "Mobius? Sounds cool. A ribbon? Yeah, how ridiculous would Erusians be if they cry about ribbons attacking them? Let's do it."

And I'm glad they did. Mobius 1 is the best callsign EVER. biggrin.gif And without M1, we couldn't have the classic: "You're not going to believe this Jean-Louis! They've ALL got ribbon insignias!"

I agree. Mobius 1 is just the best darn callsign for fighters. Though it's got nothing on AC6's Bird Eater helicopter pilot.

EDIT: Ooooh, I'm a pilot now. Booyah for 100 posts!

Also, isn't Mobius the name of a crater on the dark side of the moon? That would fit in with the asteroid theme.

Actually, a Mobius Strip is a strip (duh), that has only one side but can be traced from start to end on both sides and still meet up without a break.

I doubt it, but it could be true. The enemy paint schemes you get for each plane (of the three boxes for schemes, the one on top) have ISAF and Mobius insignias instead of Erusian, even though they are used by Erusian pilots. It's possible that Namco didn't create a skin with FEAF insignias.

Keep in mind people shot down plenty of Belkan cargo planes in ACZ bearing Osean and Yuktobanian Air Force markings. laugh.gif

this is very blurry.. but the shading of the colors look like it

and the reason why they have your insignia on their paint scheme is because it is your plane

Yes, but the point is, Namco recycles. Look at every allied aircraft in AC6, like Windhover or Avalanche. They aren't from the 28th TFS (Garuda) but they all have Piasa bird emblems on their aircraft.

Huh?

Last I recall, all of the other paint schemes you get other than the original 18 bear the FEAF insignia.

I don't have AC6 so I wouldn't know

EDIT: I just saw something in AC5, The Yuke's F-4E paint scheme is that of Mobius One's. But it doesn't show up like that in the Paint Schemes menu. So does that mean Mobius One was secretly a Yuke? ph34r.gif

This is just a guess, but I believe that Windhover, Avalanche, and Sky Kid's flights are in the squadron but are apart of separate units. But that's just guess.
