It may be just me, but I'm begining to think Chandelier is really a huge ship. There are several reasons why I think this:
1. The shape of the "Glacier" it rests on is too perfectly shaped to be a naturally occuring Glacier. 2. The Estovakian Naval units in the vacinity are actually arranged in a formation with the Chandelier as the center, which would make it the group's flagship. 3. The whole thing is surrouned by water. 4. Ghost Eye says that the shells were coming from the Ocean in the previous mission. (although the shells fired in the last mission are headed in the same direction that they are in the Previous mission) 5. Some of it's cooling units are along the waterline, it's cooling could be increasedif it moved, and the cooling units were underwater. i dont think so First of all. if it was a flag ship their would be a much bigger navy gaurding it. its base is a glacier so in some thought it was floating.

Why would they build that on a glacier? Glaciers melt eventually. Wouldn't they want to built it on something more perminant? Plus, a glacier might not be strong enough to support something heavy like the chandelier.

Glaciers are huge and i bet they can carry the chandelier. and in that ice wasteland the glacier wont melt.

Seriously, guys... remember, ice is only 10% above the water. There legitimately could be thousands of TONS of ice under Chandelier. It's probably a permanent structure. Highly doubt it can move.

I know, but still it would have made the whole gun unuseful. Make the target be a few degrees from the gun's orientation, so no aiming.
I think that more than a vassel, it is sort of a big slow moving iceberg. Can maybe move REALLY slow, about 10 knots at MOST. I think that it would make it able to shoot to any direction. Also, they built it to kill asteroids. What a case to build it up right aiming at gracemeria... -------------------- Memento audere semper

No matter how big, wouldn't the weight of the cannon alone sink the entire thing?
There has to be some kind structure within the ice as well since you need to store those warheads somewhere, and be able to fit a lift in there to carry them up. -------------------- ![]() Flavourless white cube. |

if it were a friggin ship, think about the recoil it would have when firing that thing. and waves made by that recoil could flip all the little ships over

Technically, an iceberg isn't connected to anything, so it's a kind of ship...
But you know, a lot of things the people say make me agree with NT. Like Voychek saying that something is coming towards the city (and I don't mean the "from the sky" line either). And it is AC--highly unrealistic. Still, that huge ice sheet wouldn't let Chandelier get much further. And I don't think it moves at all. Turning though, that would be interesting. Still, I don't think it does that either. They built it pointing at Gracemeria, and the Emmerians probably caught on, thinking, "What the heck are they doing?!" You remember what they said about its potential to be used for war. -------------------- ![]() HEY PEOPLE! IT'S ERUSEA, ERUSIAN, ERUSIANS--SPELL IT CORRECTLY! |

IDK why stonhenge does though, since it's supposed to be a railgun. I don't think there are any moving parts. Railguns work by sending an object along electrically-powered rails. -------------------- ![]() "None Braver, None Stronger, None Better. Railguns work by sending an object along electrically-powered rails. 3rd law of newton comes to mind Also, it's a possibility that the Chandelier is a plataform itself: ![]() And that the "glaciar" is just ice that has formed at it's sides with the pass of the years. And as Seraph 5 told, it's pausible for it to move, it's a dang iceberg, so it can be easly moved with tugboats. ![]() |

Also, simple engines inside the structure itself!
I mean, u dig the iceberg, you put on top only railgun, than make some little conducts for some engines in the sides, and here u have a stationary iceberg that CAN actually turn. Otherwise, hell the emmerians would have simply kept intercepting flyn' missiles till there would have been no more. They did that cause that monster could aim EVERYWHERE in their country. Also, for a bullet of that size, to turn more than few degress would make its range much shorter. Well that is anyway wondering about something that is probably impossible to do in RL, so i think that our imagination can run wild about this one lol -------------------- Memento audere semper

It did cross my mind that it could move.
Some of the radio calls you hear put that idea in my head. Can't remember what they are right now and since I'm not at home, I can't turn it on and listen. -------------------- |
